| What others are saying about All Natural Organic Lip Balm| All our Farmer's Markets are open! Yeah! Visited the Natural/Organic one | | One by one, our Farmer's Markets have opened. Last Thursday, the natural and organic one opened. I don't normally get to go to that one, but we didn't have enough work, so they let us out early.I bought artizen bread-sweet potato bread, very moist. Carrot ginger orange marmelaide, mozorella cheese, smoked mozorella cheese, Italian herb and garlic cheese spread, 4 dozen free range eggs, grass fed beef (sorry my friends from India and vegans/vegetarians), honey crisp apples, and asparagus. So is/are your Farmer's Markets open? A few years ago, we had one, now we have at least 5. Do you buy anything? Does yours include crafts? (Some of ours do, some don't) What do you buy, or do you just look? What kinds of things can people buy? | |
| | Wow What a Pleasant Surprise | | Some months ago back in October, my pet rescuer friend sent me a goodies package. She works part time in a All Natural organic type shop near her. Among one of the things she sent me was a jar of Garlic Balsamic Drizzle Sauce that is made by a company called The Tortured Orchard (yes that's the name of the company--LOL) You can't believe how great this sauce tastes--you can use it as a marinade for meats, a dipping sauce, etc. So anyway I got the idea to write up a product review type article for Associated Content.Well just now I received a message in my inbox of Associated Content page from the co-founder of the Tortured Orchard Sauces (it's a mom and daughter team that developed it). She was doing a google search typing in the company name and came across my article. She was so impressed by my article and sharing my positive experience with how great the sauce tasted, that she's sending me a shipment of a variety of their other sauces to me....free! Like holy moly!Have any of you written an article about a product, or write a letter/email complimenting a product then got a communication back from that company that they are sending a... | |
| | how to lose 10 pounds in 10 days? | | First, you should know what this diet is about. by doing this you are cleansing the body toxins or anything bad in your stomach, intestines, etc. In doing this, you will feel better, be healthier, and lose weight really fast. Second, what you need to do is mix this drink (described below) and drink only that for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the 7-10 days that you are doing the diet. You must only drink this mixture, as soon as you eat real food, you have ruined the cleanse and must start from scratch again. the only other thing you could drink is an occasional organic herbal tea. Third, you might wonder if this mixture will be enough for a person to live on. well, it has all of the nutrients you will need for the length of the diet, and you should not feel too hungry while on it. Fourth, the proper mixture for one day of drink is 15 tablespoons of fresh squeezed lemon juice, 15 tablespoons of natural organic maple syrup, 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, and 2 liters of filtered water. you can adjust the amounts slightly for your taste. Also, if you feel you need a little bit more than that for the day you can adjust accordingly. Lastly, in the evening of every day, you need to... | |
| | You have one chance to better nutrition for everyone around the world... | | If there were ONE single law that you could pass to better the quality of food and nutrition in your area, what would it be?I would pass a law making stricter guidelines on what claims a food company can make about it's products. Like "All Natural", "Organic", and "Fat Free". People buy these things believing that they're making a healthy choice but really they aren't. The truth behind the claim is written in the ingredients; non-fat foods are filled with sugars and caloric-fillers, all natural or free range foods are filled with persticides, artificial sweetners, and dyes, and all free range really means is that the bird wasn't kept in an actually 3x3 size crate. It's all lies I tell you lies......!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, I just realized that I was going off on a ramble there. So what law would you pass? | |
| | Apple Cider Venigar . | | An apple a day keeps the doctor away. I drink two tablespoons of apple cider venigar and honey mixed in a glass of water and had first thing in the morning. Please make sure that you use only the natural, organic variety of apple cider venigar;the sparkling clear variety will have practically no health benefits. It is really helpful in ailments. It is also good for those wanting to lose weight. It helps in breaking down fat which helps in natural weight reduction. | |
| | Flowers like Organic Food, here is a Good Idea to Feed them | | Dear friend of flowers. We have a lot in common and that must have to do with the sense of beauty.I have not much experience in growing flowers, but I have found out some interesting things about how to feed them. I have only a balcony so I would like it to be a beautiful oasis full of colors and flowers that are healthy and grow all the summer season. There are lots of fertilizers in the shops and I prefer those that are natural - organic. But there is a cheaper solution too. Maybe you have heard that if you cover the soil with organic material, your plants will get the right humidity and when that organic material starts changing due to the bacteria in the soil, it gives your plants and flowers excellent nutrition.I am using a simple solution to get this material to my plants. When I make tea, I use tea leaves and after pouring the tea out, the leaves are left. Then I fill the can with cold water and water my plants with it - I use an open can so that the leaves follow the water down into the pot. After doing that for some days, my flowerpots are covered with the leaves and the flowers are happy. Only one teaspoon of tea every day is enough to feed some plants so... | |
| | I am confused...is anyone else? | | I'm all for greener living and saving the planet. I am somewhat confused right now though. All these companies and groups that have sprung up on the internet all seem to be pushing the exact same thing - more products. If they're operating under the Mary Kay philosophy of "people have to buy soap so why not buy it from us" well that isn't exactly "green" thinking, is it?If you are at the store and need hand soap, yes it's nice to be able to choose between a toxic, chemical laden brand and a all natural organic one. I realize that it's all about supply and demand. Only in the case of eco products, it's more about demand, because the supply is definitely there. So the more people buy eco products, the more stores will carry them and the cost of the eco products will go down (hopefully). And I don't have a problem choosing the eco products at the store when I can find them, I really don't. I do have a problem with being bombarded with ads from the eco people telling me I need to go buy this picnic basket or that tablecloth simply because it's made from bamboo/organic cotton/recycled materials and it's free trade. It is fantastic that companies are producing... | |
| | An Oxymoron? Just Why Is It? | | I had started a discussion asking for your prayers over the joint pain I've been having with my feet and ankles, and one MyLotter kind of suggested that a lot of our ills can be triggered by bad dietary habits and it got me thinking about diet and food in general. Now while I'm not by any means a health fanatic, neither do I have the "average" crummy type of diet most people have. I avoid very fatty, fried foods..if I have fried chicken for instance I at least over-fry rather than deep fry...besides I lost my taste for heavily fried foods and if I do eat them get the worse case of gastritis going. So check that off...I don't eat heavily fried foods. I also don't drink sodas and haven't in decades, and prefer drinking juices (but diluted...half juice, half water) and herbal teas. I generally don't eat too many sugary sweet things..uh, though confess to being a bit addicted to ice cream and every once in a while get a chocolate craving...heehee. I also haven't eaten any fast foods in decades and my memory of when I did eat fast foods, they tasted like well, crap to me. I'm by no means a vegetarian, but am trying to cut down on red meats, and would actually prefer to eat more... | |
| | Other Ways To Help You With Mosquitoes | | Use sandalwood to repel mozzies
We have found the best product for keeping mosquitoes away is Sandalwood sticks. We live in an area which gets inundated and these are the only things that work. They are available from Bunnings, Kmart and other large stores and are wonderful. They also have a great smell but best of all, they get rid of the pesky little mozzies!Keep mozzies away with cider vinegar
We have found a cheap and effective way to keep mosquitoes at bay is to spray apple cider vinegar on our exposed skin it works wonders!Old fashioned mozzie coils still work best
The cheapest and best way I have found to keep mosquitoes away is to use good old fashioned mosquito coils. These can be bought in supermarkets and camping stores. If you are unlucky enough to still get bitten, you can soothe some of the pain and itching by dabbing a little aloe vera or roll-on deodorant onto the bite as soon as it occurs. My son has bad allergic reactions to bites but both these methods work well.Keep mosquitoes away with basil
I manage to keep mosquitoes away from my large patio successfully by using basil. A friend of mine told me that the herb repels mosquitoes so I tried it... | |
