Drinking with the lights off
January 17th, 2006
Goodbye, in a sense of really meaning hello, always confuses the hell out of me.
This year has started off pretty good. I went on a two week vacation to my bed due to the fact I worked about 640 hours in the month of November and December combined. It was a nice break though I didn?t get stuff I wanted to get done. I wanted to read a book a week and learn to cook new vegan goodness. But, it turned out to be a lot of watching TV eating the same shit I do daily and sleeping till 11am. I always come through in the clutches.
The holidays were great though. Xmas was fun and I got fucking Hockey tickets which was a blast. I also got some fantastic books and other stuff that is awesome too. New years was spent in Queen Anne with friends drinking (but not too much). I would say that the first holidays in Seattle were a success.
The work day has slowed down a lot, hence me updating the ghost blog I never forget about. I got promoted which is always nice but with promotion come great responsibility, says Uncle Ben. Or something to that nature.
It?s basically a lot of meetings and a lot of trying to keep the groups together. It?s a pretty alright gig for now but I would like to expand my horizons!! Like, in a mental way. You understand? Good because I do not.
Back to school in the fall! I?m excited about that; I really need to get on the ball, like, today. I want to take a ton of classes but I still don?t know what my focus is going to be. I?ve been toying around the idea of being a Social Worker or working at something like Planned Parenthood. Where to start?geez..
I also do not want to lose any of my sign language skills so I?m going to keep that up and maybe minor in Signing.
I have a lot of ideas and ambitions but I really need to nail one down and focus on that. (I also want to learn piano or some kind of classical instrument.) Keep it coming.
Moving is going to be a pain in the ass but the new place has a lot of potential. Painting is going to be fun/hard but in the long run, this is a place to call home for a while. (I hope) It?s right smack dab in the middle of Downtown and The U-district (Were the current residence is) It?s one street from the Lake Union which is fabulous and has a backyard so we can possibly sent out our Badminton Summer Games there!
This summer we are headed to Europe from July 15th-July 31st. First is the tour of the Swiss Alps and the last week is the beautiful and historical Italy. I am uber stoked. It will be my first time back to Europe since 6th grade. This time, I plan on taking full advantage of the experience.
Ok, that?s enough for now.

The weather is amazing today! See, this is one of the reasons I moved here. So foggy you cannot see the sky scrappers, chilly weather, light rain every once in an while and of course the bad driving!
I actually got off work early today in which I have time to update the blog! I had some meetings today on the main campus and it went alright. I thought it was going to last a lot longer but alas, I?m home at a good time.
I think I?m going to be working some massive overtime this month and next. We are about to get really busy which is good but also is going to be really stressful. Hopefully it won?t be that bad but I?m thinking it?s going to be.
All the Mondays and Fridays in November are going to be insane. I have to actually be on site for what MS calls ?Super Days?. It?s where they interview a bunch of candidates all at once. So, while I?m there, my desk gets piled with tons of work.
Oh well, that?s what I?m paid to do. On the other hand, I have a bunch of pictures to upload to the site but for now just check out the old ones here.
Until then, I?m heading to play some Katamari and eat some food!

I?m thinking about getting rid of my gaming systems to heed my mental needs i.e. reading more, writing more, taking more pictures, exercising more.
I know I could just ignore them but out of site, out of mind. I don?t know; it?s probably a bad idea but???
This isn?t a proper update. Lot?s of things are going on and going off. I should update more.

Back on up!

Last week was long?really long. Had the Mom is town which was awesome! She is going to move out here in a near future..like two months. Work has been long and draining. Of course it?s mainly just the great commute. I just wish it was closer.
This weekend was top notch as well. Converge/Cursed/Mare/Terror was on Friday. Converge was just so amazing of course. Cursed was great as well. Mare was cool and Terror was?well Terror. It was a really fun show and I am still feeling the affects from it. On Saturday, we trekked down to Olympia to see Time For Living/More To Pride/ALCATRAZ/Stop At Nothing/The Answer. Time For Living was fucking great. I wasn?t too into them at first when I heard their stuff a while back but they blew me away live. Good dudes (and lady) too. Alcatraz was pretty awesome too. It?s good to see Justin back in a band again. I was a big fan of Execution Style! Both nights I bought too much merch but at least I have some new black shirt because we all know I don?t have many?..right.
So, after that, we stopped and grabbed some Taco Bell in Capitol Hill. It was the first time I?ve eaten that shit in months and it was actually pretty good. This doesn?t mean I will be making a trip to the Hill everyday but it?s an option at least.
Went grocery shopping last night and it was very pricey. But at least the food will last for a long time. (maybe)
The weather is getting cooler and I?m getting stoked. It seems like it?s been forever since last winter. I?m excited to experience my first Seattle winter! ! !
This week I have a lot of stuff getting mailed out and going to put a lot of stuff on eBay. I need to get some cash saved up for the next release and some other things I would love to have a Nikon D100. If anyone wants to be a dear and buy it for me, do so!
That camera gives me a good feeling. I took a bunch of pictures from this weekend but they just didn?t turn out they way I wanted. Oh well?
I?m lacking energy and wanting to go back to bed.
Ughhh

Today is just crappy. Work is crappy and due to my bus being dumb, I missed my transfer and I had to walk to work and be late.
The Seattle bus system is really bumming me out. I?m finally going to buy myself a helmet and start taking my bike with me just in case something like that happens. Also, I can skip out on one bus and just take a direct shot.
Maybe I just work too far. Maybe I should start looking for something closer so I won?t have that trouble. Maybe.
On the drive home last night I started feeling really ill and came home and crashed. I don?t even remember driving home or laying down. It was like I got in my car and woke up in my bed. It?s amazing what we can do without even knowing it. The daily routine really gets programmed in our minds were we can walk around and not remember what/who we see. Actually, it?s kind of sad.
Any ways, a dude that worked with me in the other building came over and gave a few of us these killer water bottles. The picture is shitty due to my horrible camera phone.
So, last weekend was the ?final? Coalesce show in Lawrence, KS. I wish I could?ve gone but not a big deal. It was a great run while they were around. Someone taped the whole thing and I downloaded the video. I?m going to make it into a VCD copy of it. So far, it?s awesome!
Well, back to putting fires out.
Weekend Warriors!
September 12th, 2005
So, this weekend was pretty awesome. It started off Friday with the basement show I talked about a few entries down. Kind of hung out around the house Saturday until we went to go pick up Greg and drive down to Tacoma to see the Turmoil/Set Your Goals, Warriors, Wait In Vain show. At first, I kind of wanted to skip the show but that was just me being lazy and I?m so glad I went.
Wait In Vain was awesome! I was digging the new song. Set Your Goals were fun as usual. They seem to be getting pretty big; kids were going off pretty hard. Warriors were fun as well; I enjoyed them more than I thought I would. But man, Turmoil destroyed the show! They were amazing and I know that word get throw around a lot but damn, they CRUSHED. I wish more bands would sound like Turmoil instead of hearing the same hardcore played. I only got pictures of Set Your Goals mainly because Hell?s Kitchen doesn?t have a very photo friendly area.
It was defiantly a breath of fresh air. After the show we headed back to Seattle and grabbed some much needed food and hung out at Greg?s house for a while.
Sunday was a really lazy day. Got up and went over Greg?s place and stole about 3,000 songs from his computer. My Ipod loves it!
We grubbed down on some awesome pasta and bread and watched The Bourne Identity and drank some wine and it was good wine!
This work week will be long and stupid. My mom flies in on Friday and will be here until the 25th. That should be fun! I haven?t seen her since Christmas and this will more than likely be a sell trip on her moving to the Seattle area. I?ll see how well I do with that. I?m going to have to leave her home alone on the 23rd because of CONVERGE!!! I?m so stoked out of my mind for that show!

Tonight I went to the Betrayed, Sinking Ships, The Answer, and Allegiance show in Ballard. It was a good show; I only stayed for Betrayed and Sinking Ships. I was just too tired and not feeling up to it. Sinking Ships were great as usual and Betrayed were so good. I really like that band. I really didn?t talk to anyone there. It was kind of uncomfortable at time but I delt. I think that might be the reason I left early. Whatever..
I took some pictures of the show and you can view them here
Now, after being up for almost 48 hours, I think it?s time for some well deserved sleep.
